Walk in Faith, Not Fear. Walk! Share!

Named.  Formed.  Continually created.  Called.  Rescued.  Forgiven.  Healed.  Saved – not condemned.  Loved.

It has taken me a lifetime to come to hear and to feel these revelations as personal truth, not religious dogma or cliché.  It has also taken me years to feel that I can and should share my own spiritual learnings with others.  This is a call to which I have been slow to respond because of feelings of unworthiness, inadequacy, and concerns over “getting it wrong” and leading someone astray (Matthew 8:6).   However, it is time.  I am being called to walk in faith, not fear.  Walk!

By way of caveat, while I write from a decidedly Catholic perspective, I am definitely not speaking from an institutional position.  I speak only for myself.  This is a spiritual practice for me and I am on very unsteady footing.  Please pray for me that I won’t screw this up.  I only want to recognize and heed the Call.

The beautiful picture that is shown on this page was taken on the Feast of Saint Stephen, 26 December 2015 at the Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani.  I happened to be standing just behind the Monk taking the photo.

And I will lead the blind
in a way that they know not,
in paths that they have not known
    I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I will do,
and I will not forsake them.
Isaiah 42:16
